Islamic resistance against UN-sanctions
Muslims from all over the world condemn the use of sanctions against Libya on a mass meeting of islamic solidarity
Also from a strict islamic point of view, sanctions against Libya are being condemned by numerous of faithful and responsible muslim brothers and sisters, who can watch the suffering of a whole nation on an everyday basis. That is why the WORLD ISLAMIC CALL SOCIETY in 1995 issued a statement of their commitment to stop UN-sanctions against their fellow muslim Libyans.
THE FIFTH GENERAL CONFERENCE OF WORLD ISLAMIC CALL SOCIETY

Sanctions Imposed on Jamahiriya
The Conference agreed to the following:
- 1.Condemning the policy of embargo adopted by the UN against the Muslim Ummah.
- 2.Requiring all delegates to stage protests, demonstrations, and symposia all over the Muslim World to show anger and outrage at the UN Security Council and its oppressive policies.
- 3.Dismissing all kinds of sanctions - scientific, intellectual, or technical - being imposed on the Muslim States.
- 4.Vowing to mobilize public opinion immediately after delegates return to their Islamic Countries in order to urge their governments to renounce the use of all kinds of embargo.
- 5.Deciding that every Daiya and Islamic Institution should adopt a variety of working programmes to enlighten the Muslims about the use of embargo by the enemies of Islam.
- 6.Setting up a committee emerging from the Conference to contact heads of state and kings of the Muslim World and to brief them on the dangers of the use of embargo.
- 7.Deciding that all those in the field of Daawa, writers as well as journalists, should break their silence and give greater coverage to the policy of embargo and its effects on Islam and Muslims.
- 8.Holding a conference or a symposium to work out a Fatwa on the issue of a Muslim boycotting his Muslim brother because of a
decision taken by a disbeliever.
- 9.Deciding that Ulama, preachers, and religious people should, on all occasions, take on the responsibility to clarify the illegality of boycott resolutions, considering them a violation of the Islamic rules.
