The meeting of the United Nations Security Council on the 20th of March 1998, was another opportunity to prove that the claims of the US and the UK governments of international support are nothing but a misrepresentation of facts.
We are glad many of you had the opportunity to witness, first hand, the meeting of the Security Council where 53 speakers expressed the positions of their respective governments and regional organizations. Out of that number, you must have noted that the overwhelming majority called on the US and the UK to accept a solution of the problem by holding the trial in a neutral country.
The meeting of the Security Council proves the following:
Translation: the aim is not justice to the families. It is fighting Libya. Is that not a political issue? Is the aim anything other than the continuation of the sanctions against Libya and the suffering of its people as well as that of the victims families?
* Once again, Libya has nothing to do with the Lockerbie incident. The US and UK governments know that very well. However they chose to deal with this issue in a manner best described be Dr. Jim Swire, when he said "I feel that I heard the American Ambassador being extremely economical with the truth".
Please find enclosed a transcript of the meeting of the Council, hoping it will help you keep abreast of the positions of the whole international community.
We hope you will find this page useful in providing you with the truth.
